Feline Friday Five

Badda Bing Badda Boom Friday Five

Today's Friday 5 is so fun! I challenged myself to play without peeking at anyone else's answers. Since I'm way out on the Left Coast, a lot of Fridays I don't play until later than everyone else, and today isn't an exception :((

This time I'm actually trying not to be my usual formally theological self...
F5, short and sweet.

The questions are simple, the answers unlimited. Go!
Who: My former neighbors, Lisa, Al and their two kids;

What: my decision to adopt their young brown tabby boy cat they'd found in an alley and named "Alley";

When: almost 5 years ago, during spring 2002;

Where: from their house to my house;

Why: they claimed he was outrageously aggressive; I thought he was gorgeous and full of potential--(hey, I need to take some pics and get them online soon!);

Bonus: How: making a deal with them I'd go 50/50 with the cost of his neutering; Lisa brought him to me together with his dishes, some food and a cat bed;

My self-defined extra bonus: So what? since I already had Pumpkin Marigold, an orange tabby girl cat I usually called "PM," I renamed my new adoptee, keeping Alley as the first part of his name and adding a middle name beginning with "M" so I could have both AM and PM. His middle name? Malibu, after the strip beach not far away from the Central Artery in Boston and not the more illustrious California beach of the same name. AM has grown up to be amazing, affectionate and very large!

I'm cross-posting this from this far by faith, where I've been posting a lot of my stuff from Design School, since school always qualifies as part of my Journey in Faith.

Bostonians

You might be a Bostonian if...

• You think of Philadelphia as the deep south.
• You think there are only 25 letters in the alphabet (no R).
• You think three straight days of 90+ degrees is a heat wave.
• All your pets are named after Celtics Hall-of-Famers.
• You refer to 6 inches of snow as a dusting.
• Just hearing the words New York puts you in an angry frenzy.
• You know the significance of 1918.
• Your favorite adjective is wicked.
• You think 63 degree ocean water is warm.
• You still can't bear to watch highlights from game 6 of the 1986 World Series.
• You believe using your turn signal is a sign of weakness.
• You don't realize that you talk twice as fast as everyone else.

Lifestyle Ambience, Fall 2005

Recently I came across this collection of recollections; as you can tell by the reference to Salt Lake City, it is rather old!
Buzz. Statement of Mission: No mission. It's the year of the goose. [1995 was a Year of the Goose in the Canadian Zodiac, so that’s probably when I compiled this.]
It's the year of the one-of-a-kind love affair [from the Spinners 1973 album, The Spinners]. Or is it? I wonder.
Early morning breakfasts: Guess who's coming to
Breakfast.

Sunstream. A slow sunstream on an early morning, on an early summer in the city [#1 hit from 1966] morning.
A sundance, a raindance, all in clay animation.

Take a risk!
Here's a Hug

Things are gonna get easier
Things'll get brighter
Some day
We'll get it together and we'll get it all done
Some day
When your head is much lighter
Some day
We'll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun
Some day
When the world is much brighter [1970, from the Windy City’s Stairsteps]

In Salem we had UCC ladybugs and Federal architecture. And the Salem Tab – a tabernacle!
In Salt Lake we have no bugs and Early Mormon architecture. And The Tabernacle.

We have our hope set on the Living God

Home is Shelter. Where is home?

Who was Saint Bavo? I don't seem to be able to ask anyone who knows.

In my entire time I've learned only one thing:
If money is making money, someone is being exploited.
And that's an important thing to know.

You said you'd give me life, but you never told me about the fire.
